Bhubaneswar, May 8 (Local Wire): The state government on Friday said that it has decided to extend the quarantine period from existing 14 days to 28 days.
Subroto Bagchi, Chief Spokesperson of the government on Coronavirus said that the amendment has been done keeping in mind the new scientific evidence which hinted at the incubation period of Coronavirus upto 28 days.
“We have decided to extend the quarantine period from 14 days top 28 days.
Out of these 28 days, 21 days will be spent at institutional quarantine centres and one week at home quarantine,” he said.
He also said that the government is taking the help of CCTV cameras to keep a watch on the quarantine inmates movements and Section 144 will also be imposed to close to the quarantine centres to bar the movement of unauthorized persons.
