Bhubaneswar, July 17 (LocalWire): The State Health Department today issued a new set of guidelines for private doctors for better management of Coronavirus.
The department has now asked them to use PPE to reduce infections from Coronavirus patients.
It also said to ensure sterilization of medical equipment after single use on patients.
The government has asked the private doctors, nursing homes and polyclinics to create another clinic for fever patients and also add isolation facilities. It has also asked them to report respiratory cases to the local government.
“All equipment like BP instruments, stethoscope, thermometers and any other touch points must be sterilized/disinfected after every single use,” the norms said.
It also asked the doctors to ensure facilities of hand washing and masks for the patients. Orders were also given to give access to government officials for inspection of clinics and records.
“They must allow access to authorize persons for inspection of premises or to the records as and when required. In case any doctor is found negligent, the action as deemed fit under provision of law will be taken,” the norms said.
