Bhubaneswar, Sept 7 (LocalWire): The State Health Department has now decided to impose fines upto 1 lakh in selected cases of defiance of Coronavirus rules framed by the government.
The department in a notification has barred congregations of persons more than 10 at any point of time either indoors or outdoors.
It has also restricted the number of guests during marriages to 50 and for funerals upto 20.
It has also notified differential penalties which could be imposed for the violation of the order.
The department said that Rs 1 lakh will be levied on any person or organisation who will entertain a congregation of more than 10 people.
Similarly, Rs 1 lakh could also be levied on organisers of marriage functions when the number of people specified crosses the limit.
Marriage processions have also been banned.
The department notification said that Rs 1000 would be levied on people who would be found without masks and Rs 5000 for the same offence for subsequent offence.
Similarly social distancing rule violations could attract fines upto Rs 2000 for the first offence and Rs 10,000 for subsequent offences.
The commercial establishments and shops owners would be liable to maintain social distancing.
