Bhubaneswar, August 1 (LocalWire) The state information and public relation department has asked the technical education department to take necessary action against an advertisement that was published in a prominent Odia daily in June regarding Odisha joint entrance examination.
The advertisement mentioning OJEE 2019 was published in an Odia newspaper asking aspirants to contact JEE helpline number for admission-related issues.
However, the OJEE authorities later clarified that no such advertisement was published by them and they filed a written complaint with Airfield police station here, and also intimated the state information and public relation department about the issue.
‘You are requested to take necessary action against the client for publication of fake advertisement in newspaper,’ the state information and public relation department’s letter addressed to the technical education department, read.
The Odisha Private Engineering College Association had also informed the government regarding the fake advertisement.
Odisha JEE has been organising engineering and other technical education examinations in the state in two phases for the past several years in order to fill up vacant seats.
Taking advantage of the gap between the two exams, many fraudulent agencies try to dupe students to take admission in colleges having dubious recognitions.
