Bhubaneswar, Nov 20(LocalWire ) Odisha government on Wednesday ordered a probe into the alleged acts of omission and commission in the directorate of fire services.
A three-member inquiry committee headed by the Chief Secretary will probe into the circumstances for the inordinate delay for issuance of for fire safety certificates to the applicants by the directorate, a notification issued by the home department said today.
It’s pertinent to note here that the incumbent DGP Bijoy Sharma, who was shifted from the post today, was also officiating as director fire services.
The irregularities of this nature were perpetrated during the period when Sharma headed the fire safety directorate, an official said.
“It is reported that there is huge pendency of applications for issuance of fire safety recommendations and certificates in the directorate of fire services.
This had caused immense inconvenience not only to the general public but also to business, industry, educational and medical establishments”, the home department’s notification noted.
