Bhubaneswar, August 22 (LocalWire): The state government today ordered an investigation into the alleged ragging in Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology campus, in Burla, Sambalpur district.
The alleged ragging perpetrated during midnight yesterday. The 2nd year students were allegedly forced to dance semi-nude with provocative gestures before a group of senior students.
The unsavory episode came to light with a purported video of the ragging going viral in social media platforms.
The government continues to maintain zero-tolerance stance towards campus ragging.
As per the Apex court ruling, students during enrollment in higher educational institutions are required to submit anti-ragging affidavits.
