Bhubaneswar, Mar 30 (Local Wire): The Health and Family Welfare Department of the state government has now asked all the Collectors to ensure that the persons who have recently returned to the state from foreign countries and not in contact should soon be traced for COVID surveillance.
In a letter to all the Collectors, the State Health Secretary Nikunj Dhal has issued the directions to them.
He said, “The updated data that has been received indicates that 2856 persons who have returned from abroad during the last 14 days could not be contacted by District Surveillance teams so far.
These persons could infect others unless home quarantined,”
Dhal has now entrusted the task of tracing the vulnerable citizens by the personal intervention by Collectors and Municipal Commissioners.
“You are requested to focus on surveillance and contact tracing.
You must personally review the three important focus areas as stated above from the perspective of disease prevention and control,” Dhal said.
