Bhubaneswar, Oct 16 (LocalWire): The State government has now planned to make the government procurements from local MSME units and startups mandatory to boost Make in Odisha mission.
A notification issued by the State Finance Department today talked about the new rules meant to boost local procurements.
The MSME department in the state has now been asked to notify the list of goods and services which could be used for local procurement.
The government order has asked all the government departments, Public Sector Bodies, local bodies, cooperatives and others to use the services of local industries for procurement.
“The state government may, by notification, provide for mandatory procurement of any goods or services from any category of bidders, or provide for preference to bidders on the ground of promotion of locally manufactured goods or locally provided services under Make in Odisha initiatives,” the government order said.
Those who need to procure products outside the list would now need to write reasons for such procurements.
