Bhubaneswar, April 7 (Local Wire): The state government on Tuesday said that following the guidelines issued by the Central government, the last rites of COVID 19 deceased in the state will be done under its supervision.
Subroto Bagchi, Chief Spokesperson of the government on COVID 19 said that last rites of all persons dying after getting infected with the viral disease will be undertaken under the supervision of the state government and as per norms of the Union government.
In the recent case of the death of the 72-year-old from the state after contracting COVID 19, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar which treated the patient will now hand over the dead body to the state government for last rites as per the protocol.
“As per the norms the state government will take care that the last rights are conducted under the supervision of the state government.
All last rites of persons dying after COVID infections will be done as per the norms of the Union government,” Bagchi added.
