Bhubaneswar, May 15 (LocalWire): The central provident fund commissioner on Wednesday urged the state government to extend the deadline to June 20 for EPF April remittance in 14 Fani-affected districts.
The affected districts are Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Nayagarh, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Ganjam, Angul and Dhenkanal.
The powerful cyclone on May 3 had knocked down power and phone lines across these districts, disrupting normal life. The government has announced a Rs 1,600-crore aid for the affected areas.
EPFO has instructed all its officers not to levy any charges for the delay in remittance of statutory EP contributions under section 14B of the EPF and MP Act, 1952 in 14 affected districts.
