Bhubaneswar, Oct 3 (LocalWire): The proceedings of the Odisha Assembly today were heavily disrupted during the first half of the session owing to the protests by Congress leaders on the infamous Hathras cases.
Several Congress legislators today joined hands to raise the issue before the House and attacked the BJP governments in Uttar Pradesh and at the Centre.
Congress Legislative party leader Narasingha Mishra today raked up the issue during the starting of the session and attacked the UP government for its alleged high handiness of senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
Several Congress MLAs later stood on their seats and raised slogans against the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Leader of Opposition and BJP leader Pradipta Naik said that there was no point in raising the UP issue in the House and claimed that such incidents have happened in Congress ruled states too.
Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro had to intervene and adjourn the House multiple times.
Later the Speaker had a meeting with Mishra, Leader of Opposition Pradipta Naik and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha to resolve the deadlock.
