Bhubaneswar, August 23 (LocalWire): The Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted heavy rainfall due to a low pressure likely to develop on August 24, for 13 Odisha districts.
A low-pressure area is likely to develop on August 24 under the influence of a cyclonic circulation lying over north Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood.
Heavy rainfall is likely to occur on August 24 at isolated places over 13 districts, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack and Jajpur.
Water-logging in low-lying areas and damage to kutcha roads and houses is possible, the warning said.
Water logging and flash floods are predicted on August 25 with heavy to extremely heavy rainfall likely to occur at 12 districts including Cuttack, Angul and Sambalpur.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast during August 25-27, as squally weather with wind speeds reaching upto 40-50 kmph has been predicted for Odisha coast.
