Bhubaneswar, August 26 (LocalWire): Heavy rainfall has been predicted for 13 Odisha districts on August 27 due to the well-marked low-pressure area over North Bay of Bengal and its associated cyclonic circulation, The Special Relief Commissioner informed in a notification.
Squally wind speeds reaching upto 45-55 kmph have been predicted for places along and off the Odisha coast.
Red warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for 13 Odisha districts on August 27, including Mayurbhanj, Bolangir, Angul, Bargarh and Sambalpur among others.
Orange warning has been issued for 11 districts including Cuttack, Jajpur and Koraput among others.
Red warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall has also been issued for 9 Odisha districts including Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast and North Bay of Bengal till August 27.
Collectors have been advised to closely monitor the situation and remain prepared to meet any flood-like situation in low-lying areas and landslides in hilly areas.
