Baripada, Feb 6 (LocalWire): Hundreds of activists of Bhanja Sena, a local organisation, staged protest in front of the office of district collector here on Thursday accusing the centre of not allocating required funds for the development of railways infrastructure region.
The protestors also set afire the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi , Railways Minister Piyush Goyal and local member in the Parliament Biseswar Tutu.
The development of railways has been a major demand of the people.
Since long, we are depending upon the neighbouring state of West Bengal for trade and Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri for medical purposes, Sena president Pintu Maity said.
There is nothing for the district in the allocation made for 2020-21, he alleged.
