Bhubaneswar, Sept 25 (LocalWire): With cyclonic circulation lying over south Andhra Pradesh and extending up to 3.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwards in height, the India Meteorological department here, sounded orange and yellow warning till tomorrow while making forecast of heavy rain in isolated areas of 15 districts of the state.
Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation, enhanced rainfall will occur in these districts.
Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places over Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Cuttack, Khorda, Puri, Bhadrak and Ganjam till tomorrow where orange warning has been issued, the latest weather bulletin said.
An orange alert is a moderate warning as per meteorological terminology that asks the authorities of concerned areas to remain prepared for a severe situation.
The districts of Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Boudh and Dhenkanal are under yellow warning scanner with heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in these districts.
With orange and yellow warning issued to officials directing them to take action, the government agencies are on the alert to meet with the exigencies, said officials of Special Relief Commissioner’s office.
