Bhubaneswar, March 4 (Localwire): Top executives of various industries in Jajpur and Jagatsinghpur districts, Odisha’s industrial nerve centers, have held wide-ranging discussions with the government to resolve issues amid their company expansion plans, an official said on Sunday.
“The meeting was aimed at facilitating the expansion of new industrial units in the state,” the state industries department said in a press release.
Representatives of more than 40 companies, including Tata Steel, IOC Ltd., Paradip Phosphates Ltd., Adani Wilmar, JSW Cement, Essar Steel, among others, attended the meet at the IDCO office here.
Addressing the conference, the department’s principal secretary, Sanjeev Chopra said, “Happy to note the encouraging response from industries which have came to discuss issues for a time-bound resolution.”
The meeting highlighted about various government reforms like setting up of institutional mechanisms to gather industry feedback and resolve issues.
One-on-one meetings with company executives were also held to discuss specific issues.
In December last year, the Odisha government had launched an initiative called the “Industry Care” to raise awareness about its ongoing reforms and facilitate meetings with industry leaders.
It’s expected to boost grievance redressal of industries, with a focused attention on each district. The government had also launched a single window clearance system for businesses to facilitate investments.
