Rourkela, Nov 21 (LocalWire) Rourkela Police on Tuesday busted an inter-state gang, which was allegedly engaged in two-wheeler theft and chain snatching.
The police said they arrested eight members of the gang and thirteen receivers, here on Tuesday.
As many as 31 motor cycles, two auto rickshaws and eight gold chains were recovered from them.
According to sources, the crimes were committed in Rourkela, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and several districts of neighbouring Jharkhand.
“We arrested eight accused, including Rakesh Sagar, the master mind of the gang,” said Padmini Sahoo, Sub Divisional Police Officer, Panposh.
“The members of these gang were lifting two-wheelers and selling them at different locations, with a price range of Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 20,000,” Sahoo said.
