Bhubaneswar, May 18 (LocalWire): Chennai-based ISL Group praise has lauded the Odisha government for preparing for cyclone Fani at a short notice.
The government had evacuated over 12 lakh people from the low-lying areas to safe shelters before the cyclone hit Odisha on May 3.
Although the rescuers themselves they were on the cyclone’s path, they selflessly thought of helping others.
“Lakhs of evacuees were fed healthy and hygienic food despite facing the nature’s fury. Women, kids and elderly were kept safe, and casualties were drastically reduced due to the timely response of the government,” it said in a statement.
“A picture of a woman police officer riding a bike evacuating an elderly person shows the commitment of the officials towards their work. Everyone was taken care of by the officials,” it said.
ISL lauds the state government for the abled leadership and its quick response at a time of crisis, and it will be pleased to provide free transport services if required for evacuation and other purposes till the situation improves, the company said.
