Berhampur, Aug 22 (LocalWire): Industrial Training Institute, Berhampur has registered three innovations developed by it to fight against the coronavirus, in the patent journal.
With this ITI Berhampur has joined the elite patent institute club which not only gives it a priority right over the invention but also contributes towards fulfilling the vision of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, tweeted the Odisha Skill Development Authority.
“Be it designing a UVC Robo warrior that disinfects surfaces or providing solution through mobile swab collection kiosk, Industrial Training Institutes have been at the forefront of our fight against COVID-19.
I am confident that such innovations will encourage self-reliance and research spinoffs catering to the needs of the society at large and will encourage more ITIs to come forward with innovative solutions to contain the spread of the virus.
My heartiest congratulations to the team at ITI Berhampur for setting an ideal example for other ITIs across the country to stand in solidarity with the government in its efforts to fight the virus,” said Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey, Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
The three innovations are a mobile swab collection kiosk, UVC sole sanitizer and UVC robo warrior.
While the mobile swab collection kiosk protects COVID warriors from the possibility of infection from airborne viral transmission, the UVC sole sanitizer and UVC robo warrior can be used at various public places like hospitals, railway stations, airports, offices etc. to disinfect shoe soles and various surfaces respectively using ultraviolet rays.
