Jagatsinghpur, April 28 (LocalWire): The district administration has gone the extra mile to conduct free and fair election in the four Assembly constituencies in Jagasinghpur district and police administration has identified 280 booths among the 1047 booths as hyper-sensitive.
Collector Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar informed mediapersons that all polling personnel have reached their respective booths yesterday while women polling personnel will join their polling duties by 4.30 a.m.
She said there are 15 model booths in each Assembly segment with facilities like safe drinking water. Special attention will be given to help people with physically disabilities, transgenders and women.
There are 33,000 people with physical disability and 525 ‘Sugamaya’ vehicles will be pressed on service to transport them and old persons from their home to the booths.
Volunteers and schools children will be engaged to provide them help.
In last general election, voting percentage for Paradip and Tirtol Assembly constituencies was less than 50. To achieve the Election Commission’s objective to not leave behind any voter, elaborate arrangements are being made to raise the voting percentage here by conducting a Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation Program (SVEEP) beach festival in Paradip and other awareness programmes to encourage people to vote in ensuing general elections.
