Bhubaneswar, May 2 (Local Wire): Jajpur district Saturday afternoon reported three more cases of Coronavirus and became the district with highest count of the total cases of the viral disease.
The latest statistics claim that the district till now has reported a total of 48 cases, the highest ever by any district. The district has a total of 47 active cases.
Most of the cases from the district are linked to West Bengal.
“Katikata region in Jajpur district has become a hotspot of Coronavirus in the state.
We have tested 630 samples from the area and found 21 positive cases from there.
While around five had returned from West Bengal others are their contacts and others,” said Nikunja Dhal, State Health Secretary.
The health department on Saturday afternoon found three more cases in the district from Bari Block. All of them are said to be returnees of West Bengal and asymptomatic.
With the detection of new cases from the district, the total Coronavirus cases from the state have reached 157.
