Bhubaneswar, March 23 (LocalWire): All parties are geared up to fight the upcoming general elections starting 11 April but the BJP seems a step ahead with PM Modi’s 2019 watchman campaign ‘MainBhiChowkidar’.
Several senior party leaders including recent entrant to the party, Baijayant Panda, has followed the slogan and changed his Twitter handle to Chowkidar Baijayant Panda.
Other leaders also have taken the cue and started following this trend by adding Chowkidar to their surnames on Twitter.
The Prime Minister invited each and every Twitterati to click on the link he shared on his handle and be a part of this oral pledge on 31 March and act as ‘a watchman against corruption, social evils and dirt.’
The ones who will take the pledge will get a personalised message from the PM on Twitter through ‘conversation cards’.
Narendra Modi has often defined himself as a watchman underlining his role to safeguard the country’s interest and has now used the digital space to counter Congress’s ChowkidarChorHai slogan just like in 2014 when he countered Mani Shankar Aiyar’s ‘Chaiwala’ jibe.
