Angul, March 4 (LocalWire): The Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL) on Monday launched a safety awareness week with various activities, including recognizing workers for their safe work practices.
The executive director of maintenance, JSPL, Suresh Kumar inaugurated the 48th Safety Week celebration by hoisting the company’s “safety flag” at its compound in Angul. The employees also took the safety oath.
In his address, Kumar stressed on safe work practices, and advised the employees to report any unsafe activity so it can be set right.
Group head (occupational health & safety) Ravi Kant Somani honoured the selected workers for abiding the company’s safety rules.
B.P. Singh, general manager (safety), briefed the audience about various activities, including awareness programmes, to be held during the week-long celebration.
On his part, Damodar Mittal, factory manager, congratulated the employees for achieving a record production without any workplace accident, and emphasized on continuing such efforts.
The event was also attended by Arvind Bhagat, HOD blast furnace, Brij Badhadra, HOD sinter plant, Yogesh Patel, HOD plate & bar mill, and Rama Kant Gupta, HOD power plant, among other senior company officials.
