Berhampur, Dec 30 (LocalWire): It seems there is no respite from the cold wave condition in the tribal-dominated districts of Kandhamal and Gajapati in the southern parts of the state.
The headquarter town of Phulbani was reeling with minimum temperatures on Sunday night plummeting to 5.5 degree Celsius while the hill town of Daringibadi recorded 5 degrees Celsius.
The interiors of the district including Baliguda, Bramhanigaon, R Udayagiri, Kotagarh, Belaghara, Raikia and Phiringia experienced severe cold.
In Simanbadi, people witnessed frost on roof tops.
With the unrelenting cold wave for the last week refusing to let go of its grip, normal life was paralyzed in Daringibadi.
Similarly Gajapati was also reeling under the unprecedented cold wave condition forcing residents to remain indoors and the homeless huddled near bonfires.
A blanket of fog engulfed almost all areas of both the districts in the morning causing low visibility and affecting vehicular movement.
