Berhampur, Nov 26 (LocalWire): Cold wave condition is continuing its grip in the tribal-dominated Kandhamal district with Daringibadi, the hill station of the district recording 10.5 degrees Celsius.
Night temperature at Phulbani, the district headquarter town, recorded 11.5 degrees Celsius, Met official sources said.
Bramhanigaon, Kotagarh, Belaghara, Raikia and Phiringia are experiencing severe winter although the temperature in these interior villages could not be recorded as Met officials did not set up any gadgets here.
The cold wave from northwest was due to the snowfall in Himanchal Pradesh, experts said.
The night temperature was likely to go down further in the coming days in the hilly areas of the state, they added.
On other hand, the minimum temperature of Gopalpur, the beach resort town in Ganjam district recorded 19.8 degree Celsius, sources said.
Daringibadi, situated at an altitude of about 280 meter above sea level and well-known as the Kashmir of Odisha for its cold climate, witnessed snowfall some years ago, with temperature recording -2 degrees Celsius.
