Kendrapara, July 15 (LocalWire): Police arrested three people including the husband of the victim whose body was found packed in a sack and abandoned near the mangrove forest at village Kathiapada under Rajnagar police station of Kendrapara district on 28 June and produced them in court today.
The deceased was identified as Reena Mishra of Korua village in Jagatsinghpur district.
Preliminary investigation revealed that she was killed by Ranjan Rout, her husband, Bijay Rout, her brother-in-law and Sukadev Bhadra and others at Bausakani village.
After killing the woman, they packed the body in a sack and dumped it at a secluded place after hiring a four-wheeler.
They also disfigured her face by pouring acid.
All the three accused have been booked under Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) and 34 (when a criminal act is done by several persons) of IPC.
Their bail application was rejected and they have been remanded into jail custody.
‘There are several others involved in this case and will be arrested soon,’ said Ranjan Kumar De the SDPO of Pattamundai.
