Kendrapara, Dec 26 (LocalWire): The body of a 32-year-old tribal woman, who went missing on Wednesday evening, was found hanging from a tree in a cashew forest in village Petachela in Kendrapara district today.
Her husband filed an FIR in Jamboo police station today and alleged that his wife was kidnapped by three miscreants who gang-raped and killed her.
Mahendra Mallick complained that they hung his wife’s body from the tree to portray it as a case of suicide as the body bore several injury marks.
Acting on the FIR, police launched an investigation and a case was registered under 302 (murder) 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder) and 34 (common intention) of IPC.
The body was sent for post-mortem and the he evidences found from the site sent to the forensic lab for investigation. ‘After getting the autopsy report, we will know the exact cause of death,’ said Ramakumar Murmu, IIC of Jamboo marine police station.
