Berhampur, Feb 10 (LocalWire): Amid religious fervour, scores of kids joined mass alphabet learning programmes at several Saraswati puja mandaps in the city on the occasion of Sri Panchami on Sunday.
The Samuhika Aksharabhyas (mass learning of alphabet) was organised by the Vedic Sangh in collaboration with the Laxmi Ganapati temple committee at Lala Street.
Telugu Bramhana Seva Sangh and some other organisations had also organised the Samuhika Aksharabhyas.
Sri Panchami is considered as the holiest day in Hindu religion to start learning of alphabet with blessings of goddess of education, Maa Saraswati.
The organisers also distributed learning materials to the kids, who embarked on educational journey.
School bags, tiffin-boxes, biscuit packets, notebooks, slates, chalks, pencils,
pencil-cutters and erasers were distributed to the kids on the occasion.
“We distributed the learning materials to encourage the kids for the new endeavour they stepped in today, said B. Satyanarayan, president of the Vedic Sangha.
The organisation has been organising the programme for the last eight years, he added.
