Bhubaneswar, March 29 (LocalWire): Sarthak Biswal, a student of KIIT Law College, wants to shine bright not by donning the black coat of a lawyer but by doffing it and going barebody as a professional bodybuilder.
He pursued his passion without having any prior knowledge of the art but within three years of starting to build his body, he is now representing the country.
Biswal said he was a beginner in 2015 and unaware about bodybuilding. Slowly, he started gathering knowledge even when Pro Qualifier events hadn’t started in India.
Biswal said if anyone wanted to compete in the Pro Qualifiers, they had to travel abroad which was very expensive.
To be able to afford gymnasium amenities and maintain a healthy diet was also difficult to afford.
He said he persevered and took part in the first competition of his life in the International Federation of Body Building and Fitness (IFBB) Amateur Olympia 2018 and bagged the fourth position. Then, he qualified for the second pro qualifier event Sheru Classic in February 2019, in which he came second.
Now, Biswal aims to win the pro card and make India proud. Pro Card is the first step to ‘Mister Olympia’ which is his sole aim at the moment.
