Bhubaneswar, July 23 (LocalWire): Over 151 selected Guides students and 35 Guides captains or escort teachers participated in a camp for the 2019 Rajya Puraskar test at for the KVS Bhubaneswar region here.
The camp for girl Guides from different schools across Odisha was inaugurated by KV Number 6 principal and the Chief Guest SK Dash on Friday last.
Speaking on the occasion, Dash advised the cadets to follow the spirit of Scouts and Guides movement in letter and spirit and to understand the value of the movement.
“Work for the nation with dedication and remember the ethos Service to Mankind is Service to God,” he said.
The camp was also attended by five KVS officials: Leader of the course Harapriya Behera, and examiners B Sashikala, Sabita Murmu, SP Mishra and Jasobanti Pattnaik.
Welcoming the Guides and officials from different parts of the country in the city of temples, the school coordinator J Sisugoswami reminded everyone of the motto of the Guides as propounded by the KVS.
This was by the presentation of the scarf to the officials and the guests, lighting of the lamp, and garlanding the portrait of Sir Robert Baden Powel, the founder of the Scout movement more than 100 years ago.
This was followed by a song and Odissi Dance performance by the students of KV number 6, and Flag Break Ceremony.
