Berhampur, August 8 (LocalWire): Mystery shrouded the death of a 29-year-old lecturer of Science College, Kankorada, in Ganjam district, whose decomposed body was found hanging from a rented house in Manika Nagara in Hinjili police station limits today.
The deceased was identified as Rajendra Kumar Bhuyan from Bhadrak district who was a lecturer of Physics in the Science College, Kankorada.
Police said they broke open the house that was bolted from inside after receiving a call from the owner regarding foul smell emanating from the house.
‘We found him hanging and the body decomposed,’ said inspector in charge, Hinjili police station, Abhimanyu Das. ‘We have informed his family.
The body will be recovered in presence of his family members and sent for autopsy,’ he said. Police said Bhuyan was unmarried.
Police said the deceased had shifted to the house on 29 July. Police said he might have committed suicide a week ago as the body had decomposed.
College principal, PK Rout, said Bhuyan was not coming to college since 30 July. He was last attended in the college on 29 July. Rout said, ‘Earlier, too, he had remained absent without taking leave and I had also warned him in the presence of his parents.’
‘Bhuyan remained depressed since he joined this college in 2016 but was a good teacher,’ the principal said.
