Bhubaneswar, March 15 (LocalWire): Day after Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi quit BJD, another legislator on Friday resigned from primary membership of the ruling party.
Sukanta Kumar Nayak, who had won the last general elections on a BJD ticket from Nilgiri in Balasore district, today sent his resignation to BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik.
People privy of the development said that Nayak was forced to quit from party membership after he accused BJD’s district president of mentally harassing him.
Meanwhile, his supporters said he may join BJP.
Nayak’s resignation came days after his rival Sushama Rani Biswal, who had contested the seat on a BJP ticket in 2014 general elections, joined BJD on Monday.
Irked over Biswal’s induction, Nayak had organised a huge rally in a show of strength in his constituency on Tuesday.
