Bhubaneswar, December 17 (LocalWire): Properties worth several lakh were gutted in two separate fire incidents in Odisha on Monday, fire department officials stated today.
According to the fire department officials, a major fire broke out at a carton factory near Manchabandha on the outskirts of Baripada at midnight on Monday causing damage to properties worth several lakh.
Officials also informed that it took three fire tenders to douse the flames at the factory.
Earlier in the day, 25 thatched houses were gutted at village Sunathara under Purushottampur police station in Ganjam.
While the fire department experts are yet to ascertain the reasons for the fire mishap Manchabandha, sources said that the Sunathara incident was a result of an electric short circuit.
The fire department officials further said that no one was injured in either of the two incidents.
According to sources, the affected families at Sunathara have been shifted to a temporary relief camp and provided with food and financial assistance by the Ganjam district administration.
