Cuttack, Sept 20 (LocalWire): The mobile phone, broadband and landline services of state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) was disrupted today in undivided Cuttack district with outbreak of a major fire at its Bajrakabati Road office in Cuttack city.
The fire which has in the meanwhile been doused by the fire brigade units, however, caused extensive damage to network systems, gadgets and internet data centre, said BSNL officials.
The short circuit in the air conditioner might have led to the outbreak of fire.
The extent of damage is being assessed. The subscriber services have been affected in Cuttack city besides other parts of Cuttack, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur districts.
The engineers from Bhubaneswar circle are on the job to restore the mobile phone, broadband and landline services at the earliest, the officials said adding that services are expected to be restored tonight.
