Malkangiri, Jan 10 (LocalWire) The Malkangiri district administration raided four shelter homes at MV-7 village, as a part of its drive to crackdown on illegal hostels.
Officials of Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) raided Gayatri Tutorial, Saraswati Tutorial, Talent and Ganesh Tutorial shelter homes on Wednesday.
According to sources, they found the shelter homes, despite charging Rs. 20,000 per inmate, are keeping them in an unhygienic condition.
Almost 20 children were found clustered in a single room, said sources.
CWC official Ashok Kumar Patnaik said: ” Authorities of these shelter homes have violated rules of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).”
“We will intimate the collector about our findings. Post that, the children will be rehabilitated,” he said.
