Bhubaneswar, March 20 (LocalWire): The CISF seized two gold bars weighing 610 grams from a passenger who arrived here from Bangkok on Tuesday midnight and was supposed to travel to Delhi in the early hours today.
The market value of the gold bars originating from Australia was estimated at Rs 2.50 lakh.
The passenger, Amarjit Singh, was frisked twice before he was taken to a special checking room.
The bars, wrapped in tape and concealed inside his turban, were detected while he was being thoroughly checked.
He has been detained and handed over to the customs officials for further interrogation, CISF officials said.
