Sambalpur, December 9 (LocalWire): In yet another instance of sexual abuse, a 40-year old married woman was allegedly gang-raped by four persons in Sambalpur Township.
The police have detained four suspected rapists and interrogating them to ascertain their involvement in the crime, sources said.
The offence was committed on the night of 7 December.
Two of the accused had given a lift to the woman on their motorcycle near Ainthapalli chowk since the woman wanted to go to the local bus stop.
The men later dropped her near Bareipalli and raped her after offering cold drinks mixed with a sedative. They were later joined by two other persons who took turns in raping her.
The woman was spotted lying in an unconscious state on Sunday night and some locals later informed the police.
A native of Hirakud Dam Township, she was later rescued from the spot of the crime and hospitalized by the police.
