Berhampur, Feb 14 (LocalWire) The Medical Council of India (MCI) has renewed permission for admission of MBBS students in MKCG Medical College here.
‘The MCI board, in its recent meeting, has granted approval for admission of 250 MBBS students in fourth batch of the medical college for the next academic session 2019-20.
“The college received MCI message in this regard on Wednesday,” said college principal Radha Madhab Tripathy on Thursday.
A three-member team of MCI had visited the college in September to assess its availability of infrastructure, including staff.
While giving permission for admission of 250 students, MCI has also instructed the college authorities to keep 15% of MBBS seats for all India quota.
The MCI had increased MBBS first year seats from 150 to 250 from academic year 2016-17.
Earlier, the council had increased MBBS seats in the college from 107 to 150 in 2012-13, sources said.
