Bhubaneswar, July 14 (LocalWire): A mega plantation drive ‘Go Green; Greater Involvement’ was organized by KIIT & KISS on Saturday.
More than ten thousand employees of KIIT, KISS and KIMS participated in the drive and planted Neem, Ashoka, Pistachio, Pomegranate and other saplings in various campuses and other areas of Bhubaneswar to contribute their bit in the ‘Go Green’ initiative.
The employees also planted saplings in their homes and residential areas.
During cyclone Fani lakhs of trees were damaged causing loss of greenery in and around KIIT campuses.
Inaugurating the plantation drive Dr Achyuta Samanta, founder, KIIT & KISS said, ‘natural beauty has always been an exclusive feature of KIIT & KISS until Cyclone Fani destroyed the green cover of these two landmark institutions.
With a vow to envelope these institutions back with greenery and to beautify the landscape of KIIT and the capital city Bhubaneswar it has been decided to plant and nurture more trees than those damaged within this year.’
