Bhubaneswar, August 27 (LocalWire): Mr. Martin Schwenk, managing director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, visited KISS and different campuses of KIIT today.
He inaugurated the automotive mechatronics learning and research centre, set-up in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, the largest luxury car maker of India, at KIIT Deemed to be University.
The centre was inaugurated in the presence of Dr Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT and KISS.
‘This is the first and only centre in eastern India, Schwenk said adding that the advanced diploma course in automotive mechatronics is one of its initiative to develop skilled manpower for the industry.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Samanta said, ‘Mercedes-Benz is a global icon known for innovation and pioneering technology.
Such programmes are vital for students to receive quality education along with world-class training and understanding of cutting-edge technology at par with current industry norms.’
Addressing 10,000 girl students of KISS Schwenk said he was impressed by KISS and the quality education it imparts and said, ‘If we become educated, there will be qualitative development in our society.’
Appreciating the outstanding work of Dr Samanta, he said, his efforts to bring social change through education is really praiseworthy and exemplary for all of us.
Among others Shekhar Bhide, vice president, customer services, Mercedes-Benz India, RN Dash, secretary, KIIT and KISS, Dr PK Routray, CEO, KISS, Jadunath Kulkarni, GM, Mercedes-Benz India and Chhaya Tiwary, corporate communication manager were also present.
