Nagada hillock, home to the primitive Juang tribe, drew national attention three years back after 19 children died of malnutrition within a three-month span.
‘Nagada is now a model tribal village in the state. We provided roads, water, solar light, nutrition, food, free medical camps and other facilities.
The district administration will deliver PDS rice and other items to the tribals of Nagada in their houses soon. All roads will be repaired by the authorities and street light from Kaliapani to Nagada will be set within a month.
All the houses will get drinking water through pipelines and our government is committed towards the development of Nagada and other tribal villages in the district. We have already started free kitchens and free medical camps in these remote villages to provide help to the tribal people.
The vast mineral wealth of Sukinda areas in the district is well known in the world.
District Mineral Fund (DMF) will be utilized for the development of the tribal people of the district. Many tribal people are not aware about health care and nutrition till date for which I directed officials to organise regular health awareness camps among them,’ said the minister.
