Bhadrak, December 13 (LocalWire): A 1o year old tribal girl was allegedly raped by a man living on the neighbourhood of victim’s house in a village of Bhadrak district.
The perpetrator of the crime that took place on December has been identified. Manhunt is on to arrest the accused, Bhadrak Rural police said.
The crime was committed by the offender when social function was being organized at the victim’s house. Finding family members preoccupied with the function arrangement, the accused induced the minor by offering chocolates and took her to a deserted site on the backyard of the house to rape her.
As the child’s health deteriorated, she confided the parents of the sexual abuse.
The victim is undergoing treatment at Bhadrak District Headquarters hospital. However her health condition is stable, police said.
Case has been registered under IPC sections 376 (rape), 341 (wrongful restraint), section-342 (wrongful confinement), section-506 (criminal intimidation) and sections- 4 and 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, 2012. Manhunt is on to arrest the minor’s rapist.
Of the minor sexual abuse cases registered in the State in the current year, the offenders in majority of minor rape cases were either known to the girl or were from the people living on the neighbourhood. This is a disturbing and disconcerting trend, said police officials at the State police headquarters.
