Bhubaneswar, Aug 19 (LocalWire) Unidentified miscreants allegedly set on fire two cars and motorbikes parked at the quarters of a sitting lawmaker at the Unit-4 MLA colony locality of the city, raising serious security concern.
The incident occurred earlier today as the occupants of the quarter allotted to Talcher MLA Braja Kishore Pradhan found smoke emanating from the campus.
Later they found the cars and bikes on fire.
The fire brigade personnel later rushed to the spot to douse the fire.
But the fire fighting operation did not yield the desired result as the vehicles and the bikes were charred beyond redemption, police said.
Pradhan is currently outside of the state for health checkup.
He could not be reached over phone.
“It’s appears to be a case of willful act of sabotage and disruption as the miscreants had locked up the entry door to the house” a senior police official said.
Scientific and forensic teams are at spot to gather vital material evidence. Investigation is underway to crack the mysterious fire, he added.
