Berhampur, November 30 (LocalWire): MKCG Medical College and Hospital will soon have its new super-specialty block up and running.
According to sources, the construction work of this new super specialty facility at the government-run hospital has already been completed and it is likely to be functional by the end of December this year.
While the water supply and plumbing work have been completed, the installation of equipment for different departments and the electrification work for the five-storied building is still underway.
“We have asked the executing agency to electrify the building by December 15 and make it functional,” Pradipta Mohapatra, the nodal officer responsible for overseeing the hospital development work said.
Mohapatra had recently visited the medical college to take stock of the work.
The Rs 150-crore super specialty block is being constructed under the centrally sponsored Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Surakshya Yojana, with the state government providing Rs 30-crore for the project, sources said.
The new block will have over nine super specialty departments including neurology, neurosurgery, cardiology, cardiac surgery, endocrinology, plastic surgery, pediatric surgery, nephrology, and urology.
All departments will be equipped with modern instruments, intensive care units and OTs in surgery departments, sources stated.
