Bhubaneswar, Sept 5 (LocalWire): The ‘Mo school abhiyan’ initiative launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik two years ago has become the largest alumni contribution programme in the country with the project cost touching Rs 100 crores.
The initiative based on the philosophy of ‘giving back’ to support schools for an inclusive process of growth has reported 1,49, 536 contributors with total contribution of over Rs one crore from alumni till August 2019.
The scheme plans to groom children beyond the school hours with alumni support, keen to contribute their services in enhancing the skills of children.
By leveraging their experience and success, it will ensure a proper learning eco-system beyond the school hours.
Mo School Abhiyan will pilot this programme in 5,000 villages this year.
The ‘Mo school’campaign aims at promoting and facilitating volunteers to give back to their alma maters and it has turned out to be a success, said officials of schools and mass education department.
