Bhubaneswar, March 17 (LocalWire): With elections round the corner, new mobile apps have hit the market to help inform voters about candidates, seats and EVMs, among other details.
While some apps help voters on “how to cast votes”, others give information about seats and contestants.
One such mobile app offered on Google Play Store is “Voter Helpline”. The app helps in new voter registration, verifying names on electoral roll as well as changing a voting constituency.
It also helps register complaints related to electoral services, FAQs, EVMs and results etc.
Another app named “Election India” provides updates about major political parties, leaders and events. The app also helps voters to track IDs.
Similarly, Neta – “Leaders Report Card” allows voters to rate their leaders which can be used in opinion polls to predict election outcomes with high certainty.
“Lok Sabha Election” is another app that gives details about previous elections and even male-female voter ration.
Besides these private apps, the Election Commission has developed the cVIGIL app which allows users to report model code of conduct, or poll expenditures.
People can visit ECI website to get further information, or lodge complaints.
