Bhubaneswar, Oct 3 (LocalWire): Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today said that under the NDA government the benefits of Minimum Support Price (MSP) were widened against the UPA government regime.
Pradhan today spoke to the media persons in Bhubaneswar to talk about the benefits of the three controversial farmers bills brought by the government.
“We have widened the MSP benefits. In the last four years, more procurement of paddy was recorded in Odisha. We have also seen MSP procurement of pulses which was not done earlier,” he said.
The Union minister also said that under the Modi government the farmers would continue to get the MSP benefits against the speculations of eradication of the MSP regime with the introduction of the three bills.
“Even earlier there was no MSP provision in any act but it was given. Believe me under the leadership of a sensitive person like PM Modi, the MSP benefits to the farmers are not going anywhere,” he said.
Pradhan said that three acts will usher in a new era where the farmers are likely to get a better price for their crops against the earlier rule of the governments at the Centre.
