Bhubaneswar, Sept 29 (LocalWire): The Odisha Assembly which witnessed the maiden day of the Monsoon Session today listed 11 legislations for introduction before the House.
This is against the target of the ruling government to introduce 16 legislations for passing during the short session of the Assembly, organised amid the coronavirus threat.
As per the List of Business for today, the treasury bench has planned to introduce 11 ordinances which included-Epidemic Diseases (Amendment)Ordinance, Odisha Agriculture Produce and Livestock Contract Farming and Services (Promotion and Facilitation) Ordinance and others.
The schedule also talked about laying of 33 papers related to GST, Land Settlement, Odisha Wakf Board rules, IDCO recruitment and others.
Amid tight scrutiny, the Monsoon Session of Odisha Legislative Assembly started today after filtering out Coronavirus positive MLAs and other stakeholders.
The session will continue till October 7.
The ruling government has planned to pass 16 bills in eight days, many of them are controversial like the Universities (Amendment) Bill and the farm bills envisioned to counter the central legislations of farmers, recently passed by the Parliament.
