By-Sonali SinghBhubaneswar, Aug 18 (LocalWire): Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro today said that the Monsoon Session of the Assembly will be convened before September 30 despite Coronavirus threats.
The Speaker used Twitter to inform the media about the decision. He said, “The next session of Odisha Assembly to be held well before September 30 by following all COVID 19 guidelines and maintaining social distancing.
But the venue for Monsoon session has not yet been finalized,”Patro said that he discussed the matter with the Speakers of Rajasthan and Karnataka on the ways and means for holding the session during this COVID 19 pandemic.“I have also consulted the Speaker of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha secretaries over the next session,” he said.
Patro added that the date will be fixed for the session after consultations with the Chief Minister and Governor of Odisha.
