Berhampur, Dec 8 (LocalWire) Two more bird poachers arrested by wildlife officers from separate places for allegedly hunting migratory birds at the Chilika on Saturday.
As many as seven carcasses of different species of migratory birds were seized from them.
Nama Rourtray (52) of Abhimanapur was arrested near his village, while Babula Sil (30) of Sundarapur was nabbed from the gheri bandh of his village.
Six carcasses of migratory birds, including two Large Whistling Teal, two Common Coot, one Northern Shoveller and one Eurasian Wigeon, were seized from the possession of Routray, said Tangi wildlife range officer Subash Chandra Behera.
Cases have been registered and the duo has been forwarded to the court.
With these, wildlife personnel at Tangi range, have registered at least seven cases and arrested eight poachers in the last one month. Around 50 dead migratory birds were seized from them, sources said.
